CARE GUIDE
Your piece of Fernando Jorge jewellery can last a long time if looked after and handled with care. The following guidelines will make sure your piece will be lustrous and spotless for years to come:
Your piece should not be immersed in water and should be kept away from chlorine, bleach, vinegar, ammonia, hand sanitizer, and other such liquids.
When getting ready, please put your jewellery on last, after applying makeup, perfume, hairspray and lotions.
We recommend you remove your jewellery when washing your hands or applying hand sanitizer and lotion, ensuring your skin is dry before handling your piece.
When storing your jewellery, please use the soft pouch provided, protecting it from other objects that may scratch its surface.
We advise keeping your pieces in a cool, dry place and avoid over exposure to direct sunlight, as it may affect the colour of stones.
Whenever necessary, use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean your jewellery pieces. If especially dirty, some warm soapy water will help to remove the dirt, or you can take it to a trusted jeweller for cleaning.
Tagua is an amazon seed, also known as vegetable ivory. Due to its natural roughness and texture, it is used in jewellery as a low impact and sustainable alternative.
As this is a natural material, each tagua is unique and its colour may change slightly over time. To keep your tagua looking its best, it will require the following care:
We recommend that your tagua piece be stored in a pouch, protected from other objects that may scratch its surface.
You should avoid keeping it for prolonged periods in damp conditions or in direct sunlight as excessive humidity or dryness can cause the material to crack.
Please avoid wearing your tagua piece during exercise and whilst showering, it should also be removed before submerging in water, i.e. bathing, swimming pool, ocean, etc. as gradual absorption can occur.
Mother of pearl, also known as Nacre, is an organic material produced by some molluscs as an inner shell layer. It is strong, resilient and iridescent.
As this is a natural material, each mother of pearl is unique, and its colour may change slightly over time. To keep your mother of pearl looking its best, it will require the following care:
We recommend that your mother of pearl piece be stored in a pouch, protected from other objects that may scratch its surface.
You should avoid keeping your piece in high temperatures and exposing to too much direct sunlight. Mother of pearl likes a humid environment which helps prevent the shell from drying out.
Please avoid wearing your mother of pearl piece during exercise and whilst showering, it should also be removed before submerging in water, i.e. bathing, swimming pool, ocean, etc. as gradual absorption can occur.
Emerald is one of the most precious gemstones from the beryl mineral family. The colour green is caused by the presence of chromium and sometimes vanadium in its composition.
Emeralds typically have inclusions, making them susceptible to breakages. The inclusions and fissures within an emerald are described as garden because of their mossy appearance.
These imperfections are different in each emerald and are used to identifying them, giving each stone a unique character. To keep your emerald looking its best, it will require the following care:
We recommend that your emerald piece be stored in a pouch, protecting it from colliding with other objects.
We recommend you remove your emerald piece when washing your hands or applying hand sanitizer.
You should avoid keeping your piece in high temperatures and exposing to too much direct sunlight.
You can apply Vaseline or mineral oil to your emeralds to restore their shine, if they have accidentally been exposed to chemicals or sunlight.
